Kate has such a fun personality! She always says the funniest things! Just a couple of things she has said this past week...
1) I am sitting on the couch nursing Kenzi and I hear her voice yell to me, "Hey Mom! It looks like a chicken bone and a lollipop!" I wasn't quite sure I had heard her right so I said, "What?" She repeated, "It looks like a bone and a lollipop!" So then I asked, what looks like a bone and lollipop? She said, "My poo poo! Can you come wipe me?" I laughed so hard I almost dropped Kenzi.
2) We are at church and she said that she wanted to color. I told her that we can color after the sacrament because we are supposed to be thinking of Jesus. She said all she could think about was the rides (at lagoon). I said, well, it can be hard, but we should try really hard. She tightly closed her eyes and after a few seconds said, "Nope, just rides!" So cute- I love how she just tells me exactly how she is feeling!
3) This time, on Sunday, Kate and Jack were NOT doing what they were asked, which was to get ready. So after struggling with getting them motivated, Kate went downstairs and said she was ready to go. Well, she hadn't gotten her hair done, so I yelled down for her to come upstairs. Then I took her into my bedroom and had her look at a full length mirror and asked, what do you see? Originally I was going to say, YOUR HAIR ISN"T DONE! (Then I realized the bigger question I was asking.) She burst into tears and said she didn't look pretty because her hair wasn't done. I told her to look again. She criticized another part of her hair. Then I said, You know what I see? I see the most beautiful little girl in the world. I see the sweetest, kindness and most wonderful little girl. It doesn't matter what your hair looks like or if something is wrong with your dress or your makeup. It matters what is in your heart. And you are a daughter of God. He loves you so much and so do I and that is all that matters! She looked intently into my eyes and gave me a big hug. It was such a wonderful moment for both of us. (I ended up brushing out her hair and we were off to church.)
I love my little girl!!!
