This week was Jack's Parent/Teacher Conference and since it was our very first one, I didn't know what to expect. Jack was excited. We met with his teacher, Mrs. Black. She is so nice and is very excited about Jack. In her words, "Jack is very smart! And as you know, very good at drawing! In fact, I have taken his art to other teachers in the 3rd grade and say, "can your students draw like this? :)" Jack is the only kindergartener I know that draws in 3-D! In fact, we have had moments in class where we do our draw and tell (where the kids write about something and then draw it) and kids have asked Jack to do their drawings for them. However, many kids that are very good in one area, as Jack is, aren't as up to speed in other areas, but Jack is very well rounded. He is good at math and he loves Spanish- I can tell he loves Spanish because he pays really close attention during that time. I think Jack sometimes just gets lost in his own world because he sees what he wants and goes and does it. I love Jack!" Well, Mrs. Black, SO DO WE! Jason and I couldn't have been more proud! He is such a sweet little boy and smart! And REALLY good at art! So good that Mrs. Black a few weeks ago mentioned that we should consider putting Jack in art class, which we did.
When I called to enroll him, the art teacher asked if I was the one who called about enrolling his friend. I said, "no," we heard about this studio from our kindergarten teachers. Her voice lit up on the phone and said, "Oh! Are you the mom of the little boy that is really good at drawing? Mrs. Black spoke with me about him!" Also, Jack has mentioned that in class, several little kids have asked him to help them draw and one little friend, Myles, has asked Jack to help him learn to draw better. Jack is more than happy to help EVERYONE! He is my little sweetheart!!!
